National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) North Zone (N-5) kicked up public friendly policing campaign to introduce the concept of soft policing, to provide safe passage to the road users and to enhance the standard of services of NH&MP, which is supervising by Abbass Hussain Malick Deputy Inspector General (DIG) (N-5).
During four hours soft policing campaign, all patrolling mobiles including recovery vehicles and ambulance service vehicles were utilised to provide maximum and instant helps to the distress road users during Eid holidays. The DIG distributed gift packs amongst the road users and children. He said that special patrolling squads have been used including extra staff for the safety of the road users so that they could reach home safely after enjoying Eid.
He said that people are coming back after spending Eid holidays, for which extra patrolling staff have been used to avoid any untoward incident, adding that NH&MP N-5 North provided a safe passage to road users. All the SSPs, DSPs DSP headquarters and patrolling staff have been directed to remain on patrolling and monitor traffic flow. Special briefing had been imparted by the mobile education unit at Mandra, Sangjani, Taraki and Jhelam toll plazas and road safety stalls were also arranged there including Islamabad Muzafarabad dual carriage way.
Special briefing regarding upcoming foggy season was delivered to the road users. Keeping in view the importance of soft and friendly policing, during the time of the campaign, no challan was issued and road users were briefed to established public friendly environment. Road users were briefed about the road violations. Malick said that the purpose of the campaign is to reduce the gape between police and public, besides creating a sense of public friendly policing amongst the people.-PR
