President considering appeal of Aasia Bibi: minister

Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Punjab, Kamran Michael has said that the department of human resources (HR) and minority's affairs (MA) have taken notice of Aasia Bibi's issue and factual position would be brought to light. He expressed these views while talking to journalists on Tuesday. He said that minorities in the province would not be let to any injustice.
The Minister took serious notice of the statement of Aasia Bibi that she was badly tortured by local police and other influential. An investigative committee headed by Additional Secretary HR & MA, Usman Saroush Alvi has been constituted, which would thrash out the matter and a report would be compiled in this connection. The Minister said that Aasia Bibi has right to appeal against her punishment before president and the president, as per constitution of Pakistan, has special powers to absolve the said punishment.
