KESC energy conservation stall at Youth Festival attracts large crowds

The Karachi Electric Supply Company received massive response from dignitaries as well as the visiting public at the 'Youth Festival 2010' being held at Arts Council towards its Mass Awareness Participation Programme stall. On the inaugural day on Sunday and on Monday (November 21 & 22) the KESC activities attracted large crowds of consumers who were briefed over promotion of energy conservation messages.
The inaugural team members of Youth Festival comprising Dr Farooq Sattar, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis; Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, Minister for Youth Affairs; Khurshid Ali Shaikh, Director Youth Affairs; and, Mohammad Ahmed Shah, Secretary Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, especially visited the KESC activity area in the festival and attended all the activities and demonstrations being carried out by KESC under the Energy Conservation Initiative.
They said that KESC's participation in this festival not only helped create mass awareness for the cause of energy conservation, but also provided an opportunity to motivate youth to embrace an energy efficient lifestyle. Faisal Subzwari, Minister for Youth Affairs Sindh, in his briefing at KESC stall thanked the utility for its support and co-operation towards holding of the festival. While augmenting to the energy conservation brief, he added that these efforts should be carried out individually as well as collectively to make a positive difference to benefit the metropolitan city of Karachi. The visitors asked different questions regarding the initiative and were briefed about various tips and methods to conserve energy in homes and workplaces.-PR
