A meeting was organised on Saturday at the office of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) to discuss the modalities of the Bacha Khan Khpal Rozgar Scheme announced by the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The government has allocated Rs one billion in the budget for the financial year 2010-11 to extend mark-up free loans to small traders, home-based female entrepreneurs, and new entrants not having sufficient funds to start their own businesses, artisan and skilled workers in the province.
Secretary to the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkwa on Industries, Fazal Karim Khattak chaired the meeting attended by representatives of different commercial banks. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the modalities for KHPAL Rozgar Scheme with banks and better utilisation of mark-up free micro-finance to the deserving people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting discussed different options including service charges, target audience and the representatives of the banks were asked to submit their proposals on or before 10th of December 2010 for extending the facility to shortlisted bank after complying the formalities. Their proposals should include about the proposed product and terms and conditions.
