Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif on Saturday has said that Balochistan issue could not be resolved at gunpoint, adding only negotiation could end the unrest and anarchy like situation in the province.
A PML-N organising committee meeting and later talking to media persons at a local hotel, he said that country was passing through a critical time and all stakeholders would have to play their due role for the solidarity of the county and for the cause of democracy.
He said that sense of deprivation and no solution of problems have created lawlessness situation in Balochistan while dictator led-government deteriorated the circumstances. He emphasised the need to take steps on war-footing basis to remove the sense of deprivation amongst the youths of Balochistan.
He regretted that no practical measures were being taken to stop target killing of settlers and Baloch youths in Balochistan. He alleged that whenever dictators came in power, they murdered political leaders and workers. He raised the question that under which law, veteran Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was killed.
He urged his party workers to shun their political differences in order to strengthen PML-N in Balochistan. He opined that both PML-N leaders Sardar Yaqub Nasir and Sardar Sanaullah Zehri were respectable, adding their opinions regarding party policies would be honoured.
He said that party structure would be improved in Balochistan within next two months. He viewed the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would have to follow Charter of Democracy to steer the country out of crisis. He blamed that wrong policies of the dictators governments had triggered unrest and lawlessness in Balochistan.
He lamented that operations against tribal and political leaders in Balochistan were wrong steps which has damaged national solidarity and political harmony. He said that veteran Baloch leader Sardar Aataullah Mengal and former chief minister Balochistan Sardar Akhtar Mengal were patriot and loyal to the country, adding that they had made sacrifices for the restoration of democracy.
