The Police on Saturday apprehended the most wanted Afghan saboteur from a refugee camp in Hangu district while the forces nabbed an important militant commander of defunct Tehrik-e-Taliban Swat (TTS) stated to be Treasurer of the outfit.
Afghan terrorist Gul Rehman alias Gullo was picked from Azgharo Banda Afghan Refugee camp in Hangu district. Five kilogram explosives along with fuse were seized from his custody, SHO Islam Uddin told APP. Separately, the police in a search operation in Hangu city and adjacent areas arrested 51 suspects along with arms and ammunition, SDPO Gul Jamal Marwat said.
Security forces in Swat district nabbed two militants of Tehrik-e-Taliban Swat including and important militant commander while in Totano Bandi three militants voluntarily surrendered to the security forces. Forces on a tip off that an important militant commander Sher Ali, Treasurer of TTS is present in village Bodigram, tehsil Matta, besieged the house and arrested him. He was holding the portfolio of Secretary Revenue in TTS. His other responsibilities included provision of monthly salaries and arms to the fellow militants.
Dreaded Commander Sher Ali is brother of slain commander Bakht Farzand. Another Taliban militant Kifayatullah was arrested during a raid in village Naway Kalay, Swat. Three militants Shah Khalid, Muzaffar Khan and Waris Khan in tehsil Kabal surrendered themselves to the forces. Separately five militants belonging to Tehsil Matta Swat were apprehended by the police in Karachi.
