Flood-hit areas: government claims contradicted

28 Nov, 2010

Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) has alleged that the government claims of providing assistance to the growers of floods-hit areas are nothing but a bundle of lies. Rulers set up camps at some places, rewarded only their near and dear ones and deserving people were still awaiting for relief. It was also alleged that substandard seeds and fertilisers were distributed in the flood-hit areas.
This was stated by the KBP President Sardar Zafar Hussein, while briefing media after a meeting of his party at Multan, says a press release issued here on Saturday. He said that delay in crushing season delayed harvesting of sugarcane due to which wheat could not be sown on hundred of thousands of acres of these areas.
