A high level meeting was held here on Sunday at Commissioner Office committee room with Senior Advisor to CM Punjab Sardar Zualifiqar Ali Khan Khosa in the chair who is also head of Provincial Cabinet Committee for Muharramul Harram security arrangements.
He reviewed the Muharram arrangements in the Faisalabad Division and issued necessary directions for implementing the Muharram security plan as directed by the Punjab govt. Senior Advisor said the maintenance of religious harmony, brotherhood and the peaceful atmosphere should be ensured at any cost and law enforcement agencies should remain fully alert to curb the anti state elements.
He told that the govt. would provide police force, walk through gates, metal detectors, CCTV cameras and others gadgets to the Faisalabad Police Range for effective Muharram security arrangements. The meeting also attended by Provincial Ministers and members Cabinet Committee, Senior Minister Raja Riaz Ahmad, Punjab Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan, Punjab Minister for Agriculture Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Revenue Minister Haji Muhammad Ishaque, Chief Secretly Nasir Mehmud Khusa, MPAs Kh, Muhammad Islam, Malik Muhammad Nawaz, Rana Afzal Khan, Sardar Muhammad Ayub Gadhi, Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain, RPO Aftab Cheem, DCOs, DPOs and relevant officers.
Khosa further said that strategy overcome any anti state activities should be evolved well in time in the light of information received from intelligence agencies and threats of terrorists. He further said that efforts for the elimination of crimes should be intensified and the campaign against criminal elements should be accelerated. He further told that the cabinet committee will work round the clock to monitor the security measures arranged by law enforcing agencies with effect from 1st Muharram, while committee has reviewed Muharram arrangements in 6 divisions of province till now. He lauded the co-operation and efforts of media in maintaining law and order steps taken by the govt. He hoped that media will extend same co-operation in future to highlight brotherhood, tranquillity and religious harmony in the society. He said the code of conduct should be strictly implemented, while the elements involved in wall chalking, provocative speakers and misuse of loudspeakers should not be spared.
Senior Punjab Minister Raja Riaz Ahmad said that foolproof security, medical aid, cleanliness and others facilities would be provided to the participants of Muharram processions and Majalis. Punjab Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan said that the officers of law enforcing agencies should finalise all measures timely against the persons mentioned in 4th schedule and involved in unlawful activities.
