Admiral Abbas Raza takes over as Commander Pakistan Fleet

Vice Admiral Abbas Raza has taken over as Commander Pakistan Fleet on Monday, says a press release issued here on Monday. It said that in capacity of Fleet Commander, he would exercise full operational control over all Fleet Units comprising Destroyers, Submarines, Missile Boats and Naval Air Arm besides other supporting establishments.
Vice Admiral Abbas Raza joined Pakistan Navy in 1973 and was commissioned in the Operations Branch. He has served on various Command and Staff appointments including Deputy Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Commanding Officer of two Type-21 Frigates, Commander Auxiliary and Mine Warfare Squadron, Principal Secretary to Chief of the Naval Staff, Naval Attache in France, Director General Joint Warfare and Training and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Projects). Before assuming the charge of Commander Pakistan Fleet, the Admiral was serving as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations).
