Tetra Pack launches farmer training programme series

Tetra Pak, world's leading food processing and packaging solutions company, on Monday launched a series of farmer training TV programmes, highlighting the benefits of dairy hubs. This series of 20-minute each, 15 TV programmes is the first of its kind aimed at enhancing millions of dairy farmers' knowledge on farming techniques, diseases and vaccination.
The training covers a diverse range of subject matters incorporating themes such as silage, hay making, deworming and mastitis. In addition to the videos, printed training kits have been developed in collaboration with University of Veterinary Sciences, which highlights best practices in the field of agriculture while addressing common myths and dispelling misconceptions. The topics are easy to understand and can be readily implemented for maximum benefit of millions of smallholder farmers.
"By using a popular mass medium like TV, we aim to impart useful knowledge to farmers in an entertaining and engaging way. We hope our humble contribution to society can raise awareness among smallholder farmers and enhance dairy productivity in Pakistan," remarked Azhar Ali Syed, MD Tetra Pak while speaking at the launching ceremony, held here on Monday evening. Farmer's TV Training Programmes series will be available to media channels for public screening.
