Industrialists' team meets minister

The Punjab government is making utmost endeavours to promote and streamline the industrial sector with the best available sources and professional expertise. The Punjab Minister for Industries and Food, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor stated this while talking to a delegation of industrialists on Monday.
The government is taking keen interest in the establishment and promotion of small and large scale industries in the province and in this regard, inviting strategists, policy-makers, developers and planners of the industrial sector to come forward and join hands with the government to enhance the industrial base in the country and help to alleviate poverty.
The minister gave guidelines for uplifting the industrial sector, poverty alleviation and to generate more employment opportunities. He appraised the delegation that Punjab Small Industries Corporation has established 21 industrial estates funded by the Punjab government and on self-financing basis. Under the Credit Assistance Scheme, loans have been disbursed among 18701 persons and employment opportunities for more than two hundred thousand people have also been generated, he added.
