Car thieves' gang busted, two held in Islamabad

Islamabad Police busted a gang of car snatchers and arrested two gangsters, recovering one cab and illegal arms from their possession, a spokesman of Islamabad Police said here on Tuesday.
He said that in its move to curb car snatching and other criminal activities in the area, Shalimar Police formed a special team led by SHO Abid Ikram, which succeeded in arresting two persons Muhammad Atif son of Liaqat Ali resident of Abbottabad and Afzal Gul Abbassi son of Iqbal Gul resident of Rawalpindi.
The outlaws confessed to snatch a cab (RPT-515) from Muhammad Wajid son of Sadiq from sector G-11 Markaz at gun-point during the preliminary investigation.
Police also recovered snatched cab, one pistol 30-bore, five bullets and documents of vehicle from these persons. Shalimar Police also arrested an accused Manzoor Hussain son of Fazal Subhan resident of Nowshera for having illegal weapon one pistol 30-bore and four rounds. Cases have been registered against them under relevant sections and further investigation is underway.
