PWWB initiates Matric Technical Programme

The Punjab Minister for Labour and Human Resources, Ashraf Khan Sohna has said that Punjab Workers Welfare Board (PWWB) has commenced Matric Technical Programme as a pilot project in six Workers Welfare Schools of the province. While talking to a representative delegation of Faisalabad labourers, the Minister apprised that initially classes have started in Workers Welfare Schools for Boys at Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Shahdara and Sialkot and Workers Welfare School for Girls at Multan.
He was of the view that technical education programme will enable the children to serve the country and their families in a better way. The Provincial Minister said that the PWWB is providing free of cost facilities to the students, which includes transport, books and uniform. New workers Welfare Schools are also being set up in various cities of the province. Moreover, evening shift in various WWS have already been commenced, where a number of children of labourers are getting education. Government will continue to work for the welfare and rights of the labourers, community, concluded the Minister.
