Bajra prices sharply up on grain market

Bajra prices were sharply higher on the grain market on Thursday due to strong winter demand, dealers said. On the grams side bajra low type was up by Rs 150 to Rs 2600 and best quality rose by Rs 200 to Rs 2800, other items were unmoved in process of trading, they said.
On the seed side rapeseeds Nawabshah gained Rs 100 to Rs 2275-2300, Mirpurlane low type also rose the same amount to Rs 2250 and good type was up by Rs 75 to Rs 2275. Cakes followed the same pattern, rising by Rs 15 to Rs 935-940. Cottonseeds oilcake with bag low type gained Rs 5 to Rs 1275 while the best type maintained its overnight level at Rs 1290, they said. On the cereal side Khandsari was sharply lower by Rs 300 to Rs 10500, other items showed no change in overnight rates, they said.
