Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 136,646 tonnes of cargo including 94,670 tonnes of import cargo, 41,976 tonnes of export cargo, 3,549 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 94,670 tonnes comprised of 37,469 tonnes of containerised cargo; 88 tonnes of general cargo; 26,753 tonnes of coal and 30,360 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 41,976 tonnes comprised of 20,480 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,758 tonnes of general cargo; 6,238 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,448 tonnes of cement; 3,450 tonnes of clinker; 340 tonnes of rice and 13,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely Sima Sahba, Seaway Venture, Sepanta, Ryong Gun Bong, BW Yangtze and Union Carrier sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Sepanta, Saigon Express, Seaway Venture, Samin-1 and Gulf Tiger are currently at the berth. Four ships namely Beluga Intonation, Hyundai Long Beach, C S Discovery and Cora expected to sail on Thursday, while five vessels viz Saigon Express, Gulf Tiger, First-1, Lt Triesta and Samin-1 are expected to sail on Friday. Four vessels viz Malhari, MT Karachi, Lt Triesta and Hanjin Gdynia due to arrive on Thursday, while five ships namely Shamrock Venus, CSL Ride, Henry, OOCL Charleston and APL Chicago are due to arrive on Friday.

The total export cargo includes 13,118 tonnes includes 2,270 tonnes of rice and 10,848 tonnes of containerised cargo. Container ship namely CMA CGM Jamica sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more vessels viz MT Chem Route Brilliant and MT Four Bay are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine ships namely CV CMA CGM Jamica, CV ACX Refflesia, MV Rahmea-1, MV BM Challenge, MV Hae Song, Wales-II, MT Chem Route Brilliant, MT Samho Emerald and MT Four Bay are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil respectively.
Seven vessels viz Dubai Express, MSC Freedom, Seaways Venture, Green Line, Chem Road Rose, New Activity and Al-Soor-II, carrying containers, cement, edible oil, crude oil and diesel oil are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four ships namely Dubai Express, MSC Freedom, Seaways Venture and Chem Road Rose are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday. Four ships namely Royal Jasper, Chemstar King, Hiba Al Noor and B&A Eye Bright scheduled to load/offload chemicals, edible oil and cement are due to arrive.
