Gang busted, weapons, vehicles recovered

On the directions of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Haji Muhammad Aslam Tareen, CIA Police Iqbal Town Division have arrested five criminals of Zafar Iqbal dacoit gang, including its ringleader, involved in the incidents of street crimes, and has recovered rupees 10 thousand in cash, five cell-phones, two motorcycles as well as illegal weapons from their possession.
The criminals, during preliminary interrogation, have confessed committing 10 cases of street-crimes. On the directives of the CCPO, SSP Investigation Zulfiqar Hameed directed SP CIA, Muhammad Umar Virk to take effective measures against the criminal gangs involved in the cases of street crimes.
The SP CIA constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP CIA Iqbal Town Division, Anwar Saeed Kingra, comprising Sub-Inspector Ikram-ul-Haq and other police officials. The team worked day and night and collected particulars of criminals and arrested five of them including the ringleader.
The criminals are history-sheeters as around 10 cases have also been traced against them, registered in Nawankot, Gulshan Ravi, Kotlakhpat, Iqbal Town and Wahdat Colony police stations. Police recovered 10 thousand in cash, five cell-phones, two motorcycles, five pistols and bullets from their possession. The arrested were identified as ringleader Zafar Iqbal, Khizar Hayat, Muhammad Ishfaq, Muhammad Arshad and Mehdi Hassan. Further investigation is in progress.
