A petition has been filed before the Lahore High Court seeking fresh trial of Bhutto case, as it was decided under pressure of a dictator. The petitioners two local citizens Syed Zakir Hussain and Pir Ali Imran claimed that the Bhutto trial and conviction was a political decision made on dictation of a dictator. Their counsel stated that Bhutto was not tried and sentenced by a trial court and it was tried by the Lahore High Court, which could not try a murder accused.
