Moong, bajra, Irri prices rise; world commodities' move both ways

Moong, bajra, Irri, guwar and dyes were marked gaining on the wholesale commodity markets during the week ended on December 4, while commodities depicted mixed pattern abroad. On Monday wheat old registered higher at Rs 2640, while new was trading at Rs 2655, moong Punjab was higher at Rs 500 to Rs 9750, masoor Canada shed Rs 400 to Rs 6800, urad Burma lost Rs 150 to Rs 3700.
On Jodia Bazaar jute goods twine (per kg) 20x3 brown rose by Rs 2 to Rs 102, 16x3. CRT Indus rose by same amount to Rs 102, 8x3 rose by Rs 5 to Rs 17 and 40x2 brown ended Rs 5 higher to Rs 100. Hessian Cloth (per 91.44 meter) 45x10 Amin quoted at Rs 3500 and 45x11 quoted at Rs 3600.
On Tuesday guwar Punjab rose by Rs 100 to Rs 3500 - Rs 3600. Gram Australia rose sharply by Rs 250 to Rs 5350, while the better type was quoted at Rs 5550. Gram 50x50 rose by Rs 200 to Rs 5700, while other the type was quoted at Rs 5900, grams 50x50 dal gained Rs 300 to Rs 6500, while other variety was seen at Rs 6700. Yellow peas Canada lost Rs 25 to Rs 3175, while the other quality was quoted at Rs 3325, yellow peas dal Canada shed Rs 50 to Rs 3550, while the better one was quoted at Rs 3700. Cottonseed cakes in Sindh with bag rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1280 while the other type was quoted at Rs 1300. Khandsari lost by Rs 200 to Rs 10800, but gur ruled at the last level. Irri 6 Sindh was quoted lower at Rs 3175 and Rs 3200.
On Wednesday items mostly essential surged sharply: Irri 6 Sindh low type rose by Rs 105 to Rs 3280, while better type gained Rs 100 to Rs 3310, Irri white broker low type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 2725, while the better type was quoted unchanged at Rs 2750. Gur inferior quality rose by Rs 200 to Rs 6800, while better type was quoted unchanged at Rs 7500.
On Jodia Bazaar dyes items were firmer such as Napththols from China (per pound) AS 100 pc quoted at Rs 175 and AS 80pc quoted at Rs 155, China items golden yellow x GL 250pc rose by Rs 50 to Rs 400, Red X GRL 250pc ended firmer by Rs 50 to Rs 285 and turquoise GL rose by Rs 50 to Rs 115.
On Thursday bajra sustained rise was marked at Rs 2600 after gaining Rs 150, better quality bajra rose by Rs 200 to Rs 2800. Rapseeds, Nawabshah rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2275 and other type was quoted at Rs 2300, Mirpur lane type was up same amount to Rs 2250, while better type rose by Rs 75 to Rs 2275. Rapseeds cakes gained Rs 15 to Rs 935 and Rs 940. Cotton seeds cakes with bag rose by Rs 5 to Rs 1275, while the better one was seen unchanged at Rs 1290. Khandsari conceded Rs 300 to Rs 10500.
On Jodia Bazaar Kirana item (per 40 kgs) white pepper rose by Rs 1000 to Rs 26,800, black pepper from Singapore shed Rs 800 to Rs 17,700, black pepper from Ceylon lost Rs 1000 to Rs 17200. Big cardamom rose by Rs 1700 to Rs 92000 and cloves gained Rs 3000 to Rs 26,000.
On Friday no deal was witnessed on grain and seed market as almost all the participants were busy in preparation for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazar milk powder ended down. The changes were:

Irish skimmed was quoted at Rs 8,500, Haleeb SMP was also quoted at Rs 6,500 and Olden Burger moved downward by Rs 200 to Rs 8,500.
On Saturday only a few changes were seen as rising prices did not allow the participants to make any new deal. Moong Punjab was up by Rs 250 to Rs 10,000. Bajra low type was lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2500, while the best type maintained overnight level at Rs 2800. Irri-6 Sindh low type shed Rs 5 to Rs 3275, while good type gained Rs 15 to Rs 3325. Cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type slipped by Rs 5 to Rs 1270, while the superior type retained the last closing at Rs 1290.
