UN moves 460 staff out of Ivory Coast

The United Nations on Monday ordered 460 non-essential staff out of Ivory Coast because of mounting tensions in the West African country between rivals for the presidency, a UN spokesman said. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said he remains "deeply concerned" about events in Ivory Coast where two rivals have proclaimed themselves winner of an election intended to seal a reconciliation after a decade of civil war and political tensions.
