Sugarcane farmers hold protest rally

Sugarcane farmers held a protest rally against forcibly purchase of their crops at minimum rates by a sugar mill of Chiniot, which was owned by the Nawaz Sharif Family. The protestors carrying banners inscribed slogans against the Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif. The procession led by Syed Noor-ul-Hassan Shah, President Kissan Board Punjab and other farmers leaders.
Addressing the protest demonstration at Chiniot, Syed Noor-ul-Hassan Shah alleged that the police is rounding up farmers for selling their products at the rate of Rs 180 per maund, while other two sugar mills are purchasing the sugarcane at the rate of Rs 225 per maund, without any pressure.
