The Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has directed the growers of late sowing wheat to complete their sowing by December 15 in any case to ensure getting high quality maximum per acre yield. Experts of the agriculture department have also advised the growers to adopt the dry sowing method of wheat where it is essential to avoid unnecessary delay in the sowing.
They have also advised the growers to keep the ratio of seed to 60 kilogram per acres for late sowing of wheat till December 15. It is also advised that germination ratio of the seed should not be less than 90 percent; otherwise ratio of seed per acre should be increased suitably. It has also been advised that only department's recommended varieties should be sown to get good per acre yield.According to the agricultural experts, growers should use two bags of DAP plus half bag of Urea and one bag of potassium sulphate, for average fertile land one and half bag of DAP plus half bag of Urea and one bag of potassium sulphate and one bag of DAP plus half bag of urea and one bag of potassium sulphate for the fertile land, said an advisory issued by the Agriculture Information Services here Tuesday.
