PML-N resents harassment of Resident Editor Business Recorder

Pakistan Muslim League (N) showed its resentment over harassment and intimidation of Resident Editor Business Recorder Anjum Ibrahim by a Russian diplomat on Wednesday morning and asked the Foreign Office to take an immediate action against the accused diplomat.
Talking to Business Recorder, PML (N)'s Central Leader Siddique-ul-Farooq said that intimidation of a woman is a serious crime in any country and is not tolerated in any society. He demanded the Foreign Office to take serious notice of the incident and call the Russian diplomat for an explanation. He also assured this scribe that a letter from PML (N)'s Secretariat Islamabad will be dispatched to the Embassy of Russian Federation requesting the Ambassador take appropriate action.
At the end of the weekly briefing the Foreign Office spokesman assured that he would look into the matter. Not only politicians but members of civil societies also condemned the behaviour of the diplomat. An official of ActionAid, non-governmental organisation said not only their organisation but also other NGOs are raising their voice against the violence against women.
