Muharram-ul-Haram: police directed to ensure strict law, order

DPO Tando Muhammad Khan, Muhammad Riaz Soomro has directed police officers to expedite efforts to maintain law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram and have strict vigilance on unidentified and suspicious persons. Presiding a meeting of police officers of the district, Soomro said all arrangements have been made by the police department for ensuring security during Ashoora of Muharram-ul-Harram.
Elaborating, he said that more police personnel will be deployed at 12 sensitive places. For the security of 111 Majalis, 41 processions and seven Imam Bargahs, Rangers personnel would also be deployed. Soomro further said to take prompt action in any emergency like situation, reserve police force has been arranged while 15 control rooms activated which will perform its duties round the clock. He added that CCTV cameras have also been installed at the main chowks of the city while a medical camp organised by police department at the main chowk.
He also said that to create sense of security among public, a flag-march would be led by himself on Saturday, which will go across from different parts of the city. The DPO called upon the organisers of mourning processions and Majalis to strictly follow schedule and timings so that police personnel could not face any difficulty in performing their duties. He also appealed the public to inform about suspicious persons or objects through 15 emergency control room so that untoward incidents could be avoided.
