Sudhir Chaudhry made 'peace ambassador'

Organisation for World Peace, an international non governmental organisation (NGO) working for the promotion of peace, development and resolution of international conflicts through dialogues, has appointed journalist, Sudhir Chaudhry as its representative and 'peace ambassador' in Lahore.
A ceremony, held here on Thursday, in this connection, was presided over by the Central President of the NGO, Abid Ali Abid and attended by a large number of people hailing from different walks of life, including print and electronic media and business circles.
Speaking on the occasion, Abid said their organisation is working for promoting peace and brotherhood in the comity of nations and advocate method of dialogues to resolve all bilateral and conflicting issues. He said that think-tanks working around the world are hindering dialogues but their organisation is working to promote it.
He further said war is no solution to any problem as it destroys human race and beauty of the world. It only plays havoc with the manpower and economic resources of warring nations and result of it is only destruction, he maintained. He informed that the NGO supports objective dialogues, which leads to resolution of conflicting issues in a peaceful manner.
Abid said that they are gathering people from different walks of life on one platform, and appointment of Sudhir Chaudhry as peace ambassador is a part of it. He informed that earlier, they appointed a leading businessman Anjum Nisar as their peace ambassador in Karachi. Earlier, the nominated ambassador Sudhir Chaudhry, during his welcome address, assured that he would utilise all his energies to make the mission of the organisation a success.
Chairman Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) Irfan Qaiser, former Central Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) Abdul Basit, former Chairman Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (Reap) Haji Azhar Akhtar, former PIAF Chairman Mian Abuzar Shad, Malik Manzoor, former Vice-Chairman Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Sohail Lashari and others were also present on the occasion.
