Nawaz for small cities near Motorway

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif has lauded the project of Punjab government of providing shelter to the poor and asked for implementing the project expeditiously. He said this during a meeting here on Friday regarding the low-cost housing scheme-Ashiyana. Nawaz said that not only elite but 170 million people of Pakistan also have the right over national resources.
He added that Punjab government should select land for the project in cities or nearest to the cities so that the common man should not face any difficulty. The PML-N chief said that planning should also be made for setting up small cities near Motorway and provision of all facilities should be ensured for checking the trend of migration to the cities.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif gave a briefing to chief Pakistan Muslim League-N Nawaz Sharif regarding the low-cost housing scheme, Ashiyana. Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Chairman Punjab Land Development Company Sh. Allauddin, elected representatives, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Senior Member Board of Revenue, District Co-ordination Officers of Sargodha and Faisalabad as well as officers concerned were also present on the occasion.
The Punjab Chief Minister said that Ashiyana housing project for providing houses to the low-income people has been started from Lahore and its scope will be extended throughout the province. He said that 26 sites have been identified for low-cost schemes in different districts of the province. He said that Ashiyana housing project is a welfare scheme of the Punjab government, which will realise the dream of the poor to have their own house. He directed Chief Secretary to collect details of the vacant lands of all government departments in the province for Ashiyana scheme and present him a report within next ten days.
