Grams prices turn lower on grain market

Grams and makai prices were sharply lower on the grams side on the wholesales grain market on Saturday as sellers were trying to sell all unsold before the new arrivals, dealers said. On the grams side grams Australia was sharply lower by Rs 250 to Rs 5100-5300. Grams 50x50 followed the same pattern, losing Rs 100 to Rs 5600-5800.
Yellow peas Ukrain low type shed Rs 75 to Rs 2925 and best quality was down by Rs 125 to Rs 3125. Yellow peas Ukrain Dall also came down and shed Rs 50 to Rs 3400-3550 and Bajra, however, gained modestly as low type was up by Rs 100 to Rs 2550 and good quality rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2850, they said.
On the cereal side makai rates drifted lower by Rs 12 to Rs 2525-2538. Moong Punjab was sharply down by Rs 500 to Rs 9500 and gur low type did not move any side, retaining the overnight level at Rs 7000 but the good type went up by Rs 100 to Rs 7600, they said. On the seed side cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type loss Rs 40 to Rs 1200 while the good type shed Rs 10 to Rs 1240, they said. Rice sector managed to hold the overnight levels in process of slow trading, they said.
