I am totally shocked to learn about the demise of M. A. Zuberi. He was a great scholar, who championed the cause of economic and financial journalism in Pakistan. He contributed in an enriched manner in accelerating the pace of increasing knowledge across the board.
His writings influenced the policy-makers and extended logistical support on economic, social, technological and political fronts. His writings helped several young people to qualify civil service, professional and academic programmes. His services will be remembered for a long time.
I had long association with him. We shared several panels in the 1970s and the 1980s. We went together to Bangkok for celebrating the 40th anniversary of APO. I have refreshed my memory and have a feeling that his services will be long remembered. Our college is closed for winter vacation till December 19, 2010. Subsequently Fateha will be offered in our college. I pray to Allah that He may bestow upon him His favours and bless him in heaven.
