Lawyers to resist any change in blasphemy laws

Hurmat Rasool (PBUH) Committee of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) held a protest at GPO Chowk at the Mall by chanting slogans against the federal government and the Punjab governor for allegedly trying to protect the 'blasphemers' and to amend the blasphemy laws.
The protesters held a protest march from the LHCBA building to the GPO Chowk where they chanted slogans to make their protest felt. Chairman committee Rai Nawaz Kharal addressing the protesting lawyers, said that the lawyers would hold protest on daily basis at the GPO Chowk. He said the lawyers would resist every move to bring amendments in blasphemy laws particularly Section 295-C of PPC. Secretary of the Committee Jamil Riaz Faizi said that all lawyers of the city were united against any such move of the government to repeal or amend the blasphemy laws.
