A woman was killed and five others were injured in a landmine explosion in Dera Bugti today, police said. Members of a family were in a pick-up in Dasht Goran area when their car hit a landmine placed by unidentified men in Dasht Goran area of Dera Bugti. Resultantly, a woman died on the spot while others were injured. Security forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
The dead body and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital. The deceased was identified as Uma Bibi. Her body was handed over to her relatives. Meanwhile, police foiled an attempt to blow up a bridge in Roshan Colony area of Sui and seized 15 kilograms of explosive material. A senior police officer said that acting on a tip-off, police personnel rushed to the bridge where explosive material were planted and cordoned off the area. No arrest was, however, made in this connection.
