Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday gave 10-day deadline to Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leadership to clarify the provocative statement of Sindh Home Minister, Zulfiqar Mirza. This was decided in an emergency meeting of MQM's Co-ordination Committee simultaneously held in London and Karachi on Wednesday.
The meeting discussed issues pertaining to changing political scenario of the country, JUI-F's departure from the coalition government, the attitude of ruling party with MQM and the provocative speech of Zulfiqar Mirza. MQM asked PPP leadership to clarify that the statement of Home Minister did not reflect party policy, otherwise MQM would be free to adopt its future strategy by taking views of people and party workers.
The meeting condemned the "false and fabricated" allegations leveled by Zulfiqar Mirza on MQM and termed it a conspiracy to divide the people of Sindh. The meeting also expressed deep regret over President and Prime Minister's attitude to ignore the statement of Home Minister Sindh. The meeting while terming the separation of JUI-F from the coalition government as its democratic right, demanded of the government to respect coalition partners and addressed their reservations to strengthen democracy in Pakistan.
