Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 100,573 tonnes of cargo including 64,586 tonnes of import cargo, 35,987 tonnes of export cargo, 5,775 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 64,586 tonnes comprised of 29,986 tonnes of containerised cargo; 533 tonnes of general cargo; 29,014 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,014 tonnes of raw sugar; 28,000 tonnes of coal and 5,053 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 35,987 tonnes comprised of 26,767 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,226 tonnes of general cargo; 6,494 tonnes of cement and 1,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely Patton-1, OEL Trust, Hyang Ro Bong, Stolt Helluland, Wan Hai-603 and Samin-1 sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Sichem Pearl, Samin-1, Lady Nariman, APL Pearl, Chi Feng Kou and Hansa Stavanger are currently at the berth. Four ships namely Sichem Pearl, Ashraf-B, New Navigation and Hansa Stavanger expected to sail on Wednesday, while two ships namely Miletus and Chi Feng Kou are expected to sail on Thursday.
Five vessels viz MT Karachi, Cap Gabriel, MT Multan, Elpida GR and Aqua Atlantic due to arrive on Wednesday, while four vessels viz Al-Kuwaitiah, TS Tokyo, Spar Gemini and Sea Lavender are due to arrive on Thursday.

The total export cargo includes 9,984 tonnes of containerised cargo. Four ships namely CV Nedlloyd Barents, CV Manhattan, CV Al-Abdali and MT SC Ningbo sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely MT Sichem Marseilie is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of five ships namely CV Nedlloyd Barents, CV Manhattan, CV Al-Abdali, MT SC Ningbo and MT Sichem Marseilie are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, palm oil and chemicals respectively. Seven vessels viz ACX Marguerite, CMA CGM Azure, Eddy Stone, Lanka Mahapola, Multan, Thor Spirit and Samho Family carrying containers, rice, project cargo and Palm oil are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of four ships namely CV ACX Marguerite, CV CMA CGM Azure, CV Eddy Stone and MT Samho Family carrying containers and palm oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday. An edible oil vessel viz Argent Eye Bright and a container ship namely CV MSC Jade due to arrive on Wednesday, while three more vessels viz CV CMA CGM Puget, CV RHL Fidicia and MT Al-Soor-II with containers and diesel oil are due to arrive on Thursday.
