Prime Minister greets Bhutanese counterpart on National Day

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has greeted the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan, Lyonchen Jigmi Y. Thinley on their National Day falling on December 17. In his message of greetings, the Prime Minister said "on behalf of the Government and the people of Pakistan, I would like to convey our sincere greetings to you and the people of Bhutan on the National Day of Bhutan."
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Bhutan enjoy close and friendly relations which are based on mutual respect and commonality of views on regional and international issues. He said the two countries co-ordinate positions at SAARC with the aim of forging closer economic ties within the region for the benefit of South Asian people. The Prime Minister assured the Bhutanese Prime Minister his best efforts to strengthen co-operation between the two friendly countries. "I shall always remember with great fondness my visit to Bhutan for the SAARC summit and the beauty and serenity of your beautiful country," the Prime Minister said.
