Administration asked to ensure Majalis', processions' security

Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed the administration to pay full attention to the security of Majalis and processions of Aashura and all resources should be utilised for this purpose.He said that all security arrangements have been completed in connection with 10th Muharram-ul-Haram throughout the province and continuous monitoring of these arrangements are being made.
He further directed that checking around the processions of Aashura should be made through sniffer dogs and the participants should only be allowed to enter in these processions after checking through metal detectors and walk through gates.
He said that besides officials of law enforcement agencies, security personnel have also been deployed at the places of Majalis and on the routes of processions and surveillance are also being made through close circuit cameras. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of cabinet committee for monitoring security arrangements in connection with Youm-e-Aashur in the province.
Senior Advisor directed all concerned to maintain law and order situation and complete religious harmony among different sects on Youm-e-Aashur. He said that aerial supervision of processions of Aashura-e-Muharram will also be carried out by helicopters in big cities.
Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Education Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Advisor to CM Jahanzaib Barki, Member National Assembly Mian Marghoob Ahmed, Members Provincial Assembly Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed, Kh Salman Rafiq, Kh Imran Nazir, ex-MPA Haji Muhammad Nawaz, Addl IG Police, Commissioner and DCO Lahore, officers of law enforcement agencies, Secretary Home & Prosecution, Secretary I&C, DGPR, DG 1122 and high ranking officials of other departments attended the meeting.
