You can reduce spam by using the word "at" in place of the @ sign in your email address. Do this whenever you have to provide your email in a place where it will be visible on the Internet.
For example, typing johndoe(at)adomain.com should allow humans to understand what you've typed but foil the efforts of spammers who send out programmes to look for and cull internet addresses for use in spam lists.
