The Karachi Port handled 114,180 tonnes of cargo including 69,299 tonnes of import cargo, 44,881 tonnes of export cargo, 4,157 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 69,299 tonnes comprised of 24,657 tonnes of containerised cargo; 229 tonnes of general cargo; 44,413 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,418 tonnes of sugar; 34,000 tonnes of coal and 8,995 canola.
The total export cargo of 44,881 tonnes comprised of 22,561 tonnes of containerised cargo; 890 tonnes of general cargo; 9,630 tonnes of bulk cargo: 6,627 tonnes of cement; 3,003 tonnes of rice and 11,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Eight ships namely MT Lahore, CSL Ride, Al-Shuwaikh, APL Brisbane, Hyundai Tacoma, Li Bai, Lucky Lady-1 and OEL Sheryas sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Morning Glory, OEL Sheryas, Li Bai, Concord and President Truman are currently at the berth. Two ships namely Hiba Al-Noor and President Truman expected to sail on Wednesday, while two ships namely Lt. Genova and Spar Gemini are expected to sail on Thursday. Three vessels viz Oriental Chemi, Manila Express and Lietta due to arrive on Wednesday, while four vessels viz North Pole, Oriental Freesina, Williamburg Bridge and TS Dubai are due to arrive on Thursday.
