Speakers here on Friday urged on the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and other international and local organisations should provide jobs to the local community, who are working in the flood-hit areas for the reconstruction and rehabilitation.
They were speaking in a workshop on "Job-centered crisis recovery and decent work" organised by Pakistan Manpower Institute (PMI), attached department of the Labour Ministry. They said that during the unprecedented recent flood over 20 million people were displaced across the country but with the help of international community the life of these were restored soon.
Syed Nazr-e-Hyder former Director General of PMI, said that already government is facing the unemployment issue but its our collective responsibility to reduce the unemployment in the country. He said that there is no lack of talent but it is the duty of the government to provide the opportunity to the youth. Nazr-e-Haider said that in the flood-hit areas the education, health sectors were badly affected.
