Zardari inaugurates Sindh Bank

President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday inaugurated Sindh Bank's branch in Naudero. This is the first bank set up in the province by the Government of Sindh and the initial investment in the bank by the provincial government is Rs10 billion. President Zardari after performing the inauguration of Sindh Bank's branch, visited its various sections. On the occasion he also opened his account.
He appreciated the efforts put in by the Government of Sindh towards the establishment of this Bank and directed that the funds of the Bank should be utilised in a judicious manner.
The President of Sindh Bank, Bilal Shaikh, Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Governor of State Bank, Shahid Kardar, and Speaker, Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, were also present on the occasion.
President, Sindh Bank, Bilal Shaikh, presented a shield and an Ajrak to President Zardari.
The Sindh Bank has been established in a shorter span of one and a half months. It will generate job opportunities for 1,000 people including women. The Sindh Bank will provide services including agricultural and consumer loans, microfinance and seasonal advance for the crops.
There will be one branch each of the Sindh Bank in the 23 districts of the province whereas two branches each would be set up at the divisional headquarters. As many as 19 branches of the Sindh Bank will be established in other parts of the country.
