Suspected H1N1 patients: MSs, EDOs asked to send samples to CHK influenza laboratory

Sindh Minister for Health Dr Sagheer Ahmed has directed all medical superintendents and Executive District Officers of Health to take samples of Swab of suspected H1N1 patients and send the same, immediately to the influenza lab established in Civil Hospital Karachi for testing.
In a directive Provincial Health Minister further said that no delay should be made in sending of samples so as to ensure treatment of such patients if their samples are found positive. He further directed for establishment of separate units for Swine Flu Patients as they could affect others with sneezing and cough.
Dr Sagheer Ahmed further directed for ensuring all possible guidance to the paramedical staff and doctors regarding care, treatment and other precautionary measures against H1N1.
He directed Medical Superintendents and EDOs to ensure availability and use of Tami flu, provided to them, for treatment of H1N1 patients. If they need more the requirement should be communicated to Health Department immediately, he further added.-PR
