279,097 teachers trained under Intel Teach Programme

A total of 279,097 teachers have been trained under the Intel Teach Programme, which has reached more than 60 districts all over the country.
According to a statement of the Intel Corporation of Pakistan issued here on Monday, Intel Teach Programme was launched in Pakistan under Intel Education Initiative in the year 2002 as a small pilot project in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education, the programme in its initial year successfully imparted training to 271 teachers, after which there was no looking back.
The programme has expanded manifolds within the past eight years and currently offers a suite of courses and workshops to teachers, principals and administrators to cater to varying levels of needs and readiness in terms of ICT in education, launched in 2007. Till date 279,097 teachers have been trained on the curriculum since the programme's inception, and it has reached more than 60 districts all over the country.
Since 2007, Intel has been contributing to the education space through the donation of PCs and labs under the Intel World Ahead Programme. Intel Pakistan Corporation, in the last year of PC donation first announced in 2007, is on its way to fulfil the 4,000 PCs donation target set at the beginning. This programme was initiated under Intel's World Ahead programme. Till now 252 labs have been deployed, statement added.-PR
