Two shot dead

At least two persons including the activist of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ) were killed while a worker of Sunni Tehreek was injured in different firing incidents in New Karachi and tension engulfed the whole area here on Wednesday.
A 40 year old, Imran, son of Mohammad Yousuf was targeted and killed by unknown armed pillion riders near Nala Stop, Sector 11-E in New Karachi. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was an activist of ASWJ. Official at Bilal Colony Police Station told Business Recorder that it was an incident of target killing while no case was registered till filing this report. Investigations are underway, he added.
In another incident a 35 year old man was targeted and killed by unknown armed pillion riders near Sindhi Hotel in New Karachi. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem and was identified as Rashid Hussain, son of Zahid Hussain. The deceased was the resident of Sector 5-E, New Karachi. Later his body was handed over to heirs after post-mortem. Officials in Bilal Colony police station told Business Recorder that the victim was targeted and killed by two armed motorcyclists when he was on way to his home. No FIR was lodged yet.
In another incident, 27 years old Aslam, son of Salman was targeted by unknown armed pillion riders at a hotel in Godhra Camp, New Karachi and sustained bullet injuries. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The injured is the activist of ST. The tension engulfed the area of New Karachi including Industrial Area after the target killings on Wednesday.
