Federal Minster for Interior Rehman Malik said that the government would complete its five-year term, as it has the mandate of the people. "The Government took various measures to provide relief to common people," Malik said, while talking to reporters outside the Parliament House on Thursday.
"Rumours mongers are constantly working, but it will not prove any threat to the government," Malik said, adding that some anti-democracy elements were spreading rumours about the dissolution of the government, which is mere wishful thinking.
Regarding the reservations of government allies, Malik said that PPP would remove all the reservations of its allies, Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal and would take them along. "President Zardari issued directives for removal of the MQM reservations," Malik said, adding that the government will not move towards the commissionerate system without taking MQM on board.
To another question regarding the efforts for making peace in Karachi, Interior Minister said that all political parties wanted peace in the city and co-operation and co-ordination among political forces a must to restore complete peace in the financial hub. It is the responsibility of all political parties to take part in progress and prosperity of the country, he added.
