The announced hike in prices of petroleum products on Friday night put an immediate effect in the city petrol pump sites. Moments after the news that the OGRA's proposal was approved by the Prime Minister, the petrol became invisible at the filling station in the city.
Most of the citizens said that with the increase in the prices every thing will become out of the reach for them and now this fire will intensify more. Some citizens termed this price increase a petrol bomb and said that the right of the poor is being snatched. It was witnessed in Lahore that at some sites the owners started selling with new rates.
There were long queues of vehicles at the petrol pumps, while many filling stations had been running out of stock since the evening. There was panic among customers as the filling stations were receiving more customers than expected. It was worth to mention here that the citizens were already facing CNG shortages while the sudden hike and disappearance of the petrol added their problems.
