Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold protest demonstration against increase in petroleum products prices here on January 2. Talking to a group of reporters after the party meeting here at the central secretariat, PTI Additional Secretary General Saifullah Khan Niazi expressed serious concern over the increase in prices of petroleum products.
He said it would make impossible for the common man to make both ends meet as it was already suffering due to the unprecedented price hike. He urged the government not to further burden the masses and withdraw the decision of increase in POL prices.
Niazi said PTI would hold protest against the increase in POL prices, the alleged corruption in government institutions and the overall unprecedented price hike in the country. Earlier, addressing the party workers belonging to the twin cities, he urged them to mobilise the masses to participate in large number in the protest demo to mount pressure on the rulers to end corruption and stop unprecedented price hike in the country.
He was of the view that the days of the present government were numbered as it has failed to provide relief to the masses, adding that on one hand people were committing suicides due to poverty while on the other the rulers were engaged in making money through unfair means.
