Cold, dry weather forecast

Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, however, dense foggy conditions are likely to continue over the plain areas of the Punjab, central and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and upper Sindh from mid night to mid day. According to Met office due to prolonged foggy conditions and low sunshine, the day temperatures (maximum), in the fog-prone areas of Punjab, have already fallen by 8-10 °C from normal, and the same trend of day temperatures is expected to prevail in Punjab.
The highest maximum temperature in Punjab 15.3 °C was recorded in Khanpur and lowest minimum 1.5 °C in Islamabad. Meanwhile parts of Balochistan, KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir remain in severe grip of cold. In Balochistan minimum temperature was recorded -9.5 °C at Kalat, Quetta -6 °C, Samungli -7 °C, Zhob -2.5 °C, Nokkundi -2 °C, and Dalbandin -0.5 °C.
In KP minimum temperature at Kalam was recorded -12 °C, at Chitral -5.5 °C, Dir -3.5 °C, Kakul -1.5 °C, Lower Dir -3 °C, Parachinar -8.4 °C, and Saidu Sharif -0.8 °C. In G B and AJK, minimum temperature -10.6 °C was recorded at Astore, at Gupis -9.0 °C, Hunza -9,8 °C, Skardu -11.3 °C, Gilgit -6.5 °C, Rawalakot -4.3 °C, and Bunji - 2.2 °C.
