Quitting government: Sheikh Rashid hails MQM decision

04 Jan, 2011

Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has termed Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) decision to sit on opposition benches in National Assembly and Senate as 'historic.' He said this during a telephonic conversation with MQM Chief Altaf Hussain here on Monday.
He said that the government measures such as hike in petroleum products' prices had made the life of common men miserable. He said any party supporting the government steps would be left alone and would also lose public support. He praised MQM decision as timely and correct. Altaf Hussain said time had come to make those, who plundered national wealth, accountable. Both the politicians extensively discussed the overall political situation of the country.
