A two-member committee comprising of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Interior Minister Rehman Malik constituted by President Asif Ali Zardari to approach and suggest recommendations with regard to problems, issues and reservations of Mutahida Quami Movement and situation of Karachi, held a meeting on Tuesday at the CM House here.
An official statement said that the committee discussed the issues in detail in the light of efforts so far made and reviewed the progress on talks and endeavour to finalise the matter early. The meeting reaffirmed the pledge to continue the efforts and it was hoped that Inshallah, the matter will move ahead in a positive manner and there will be further progress.
Chief Minister Sindh and Federal Interior Minister condemned yesterday's assassination of Joint Sector Incharge Nazimabad of MQM Adil Jaffri and directed the DIG Police Karachi (West) to submit immediate report. The matter pertaining to post-killing incidents were also discussed in detail.
It was stated that the culprits involved in murder would be apprehended and booked under law. Chief Minister Sindh also announced compensation for the family members of deceased. It was also decided that a delegation of PPP would go offer condolence to the family of the deceased. Other issues were also discussed in the meeting, the statement added.
