One killed, two injured in an armed attack

A man was killed while two others injured in the wee hours of Wednesday in an armed attack in the limits of Korangi police station. Police sources said that some three armed assailants, who came on bike, sprayed bullets on Ashraf Ali, 48 and two others Mohammad Wasim, 30, and Mohammad Irshad, 30 near Pan Shop located at Korangi no 2 1/2.
They said that Ashraf Ali, who was identified as PPP worker, received eight bullets and succumbed to his injuries on spot. The body and the injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center. The police have registered an FIR number 02/2011 against the unidentified assailants.
Meanwhile, a body of a man was found late last night in Akhtar Colony in the limits of Mehmoodabad police station, police said. They said the body was found from a house in Akhtar Colony Sector-D area. They said the house was rented by Rashid through his friend Asif Iqbal on December 30, 2010.
Furthermore they said that Asif Iqbal came to police station and informed police that he received a call from his friend Rashid who told him that he killed one of his enemies in the house and the body was lying there. Reacting on the said information, the police entered in the house after breaking the lock of the door and found the body, which was shifted to JPMC for autopsy. Police said the identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained.
