Shanghai copper falls

Shanghai copper shed 1.5 percent on Wednesday, part of a market-wide spasm of risk aversion that on Tuesday saw commodities score their biggest daily fall in seven weeks. Shanghai's third month contract fell 1.5 percent to 70,750 yuan, having touched a 43-month high of 72,460 yuan on Tuesday. Lead prices fell 1.4 percent to $2,573.75. Aluminium lost 0.5 percent at $2,471.50.
