Cotton rises on Wednesday

Benchmark US March cotton futures came within a hair of rising their four-cent trading limit, as funds and system trades triggered a rally. Though March then pulled off a one-week high, it retained healthy gains. Benchmark March cotton on ICE Futures US rose as much as 3.99 cents to a session high of $1.4778 per lb, its loftiest level since December 28. It was up 2.01 cents, or 1.40 percent, at $1.4579 heading into the close.
