Drive against encroachments to be conducted in Mehran Town

DIG East, Commander Shaukat Ali Shah has assured industrialists that operation would be carried out in Mehran Town to remove encroachments. Speaking at a meeting of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), he said that operation will be launched in collaboration of City District Government Karachi (CDGK) in near future.
He said that the police department has taken several steps for safety and security of industrialists and workers in this industrial estate and for the purpose 12 new police pickets have been established at 12 entry points of KIA.
Shaukat Ali Shah informed that Madadgar 15 is being made more efficient and would now be more equipped.
Speaking on the occasion, former President FPCCI, S. M. Muneer said that security and law and order issues are not being addressed in a proper way.
He questioned that how can Police provide security to the general public when over 8,000 police personnel out of 35,000 have been deputed for the security of VIPs.
Chairman, KATI, Syed Johar Ali Qandhari pointed out that law and order issue in the industrial areas could only be improved when local police effectively carry out patrolling in the area.
